ICON is a general purpose blockchain based on its own ICX cryptocurrency that can run smart contracts. It is capable of accepting the BFT-DPoS (Delegated Proof-of-Stake) consensus protocol and using an economic management protocol called DPoC (Delegated Proof of Contribution).
